Ernesto Lopez is a graduate of William Allen High School and a product of the Allentown School District (ASD). He began his career with ASD in 2011 as a paraprofessional, while also taking evening courses at Muhlenberg College in pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in History and teaching certification. For the past five years, he has thoroughly enjoyed teaching a variety of history classes to his students in the ASD. Although he has a desire to see all of his students succeed, he has a strong passion for uplifting and empowering young men to become responsible and contributing members in our society. Mr. Lopez is currently enrolled in Kutztown University’s Master of Education in Secondary Education and Principal Certification programs. He is serving as a Dean of Students for the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years. Outside of his job at ASD, you can find Mr. Lopez working in another passion of his -- officiating local high school and college basketball games. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children.

I received my Bachelors of Science degree in the spring of 2006 from East Stroudsburg University and began working in the Allentown School District that fall. I taught at William Allen for 8 years, and coached the Raub MS Field Hockey team, the WAHS Softball Team as well as the WAHS Girls Soccer team. I then transferred down to the elementary schools for 5 years. I had the pleasure of teaching at Hiram Dodd, Lehigh Parkway, Mckinley and Central Elementary. Though teaching at these schools was an amazing experience, my heart was still at William Allen. Once a Canary, always a Canary! When the opportunity arose 3 years ago, I returned back to William Allen and completed my Masters of Science in Education degree from Wilkes University. As I begin my 17th year in the district I look forward to taking on this new role that will be filled with challenges and many highlights! Each morning is a fresh start and I look forward to continuing to help our students be the best version of themselves. My goal is to support both students and staff and grow a positive and encouraging school environment.  I love to see students that I taught at the elementary level, now grow into young adults as they continue their journey through William Allen. Together with my husband, we have two young boys and we are all huge Philly sports fan! Go Eagles!  When I am not at work I am usually at sporting events for my kids or at home gardening.
