ALLEN ANNOUNCEMENTS

Open house will be Tuesday September 24th, 6:30pm-8pm.

Coffee & Conversation will be October 21st at 9:30am in the media center. 

Lanta bus DAY passes will be for sale in the Athletic Office only.  Tickets will be sold before school during lunches and after school until 3:00PM.  This is the ONLY time they will be sold.

SENIORS: SAT School Day will be administered on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. If you would like to participate, stop into the College & Career Center in the Library to sign up. The deadline is Friday, September 13.

JUNIORS: PSATs will be administered on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. If you would like to participate, stop into the College & Career Center in the Library to sign up. The deadline is Friday, September 13.

SOPHOMORES: All students in Grade 10 will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. 

Do you like helping people? Then Key Club is the club for you! Our first meeting of the year will be in 1-304 on Thursday, September 26. Please see Ms. DiFebo or Mr. Patterson with questions.

The first meeting of the Allen Anti-Bullying Club will be held on Monday September 16th at 2:50pm in room 3-205 (Ms. Grecian’s room). If you are interested in having a positive impact on school culture, come on out and become a member of our group! If you are headed somewhere else after school on the 17th, but want to join our club, make sure you drop by 3-205 and add your name to our member list. All are welcome!

Attention All Students: The SADD club is holding our first meeting on Monday, September 16 immediately after school in the main cafeteria. All students are welcome to attend. Please see Mrs. Roehrich or Senior Carrie Spangler with questions.

SENIORS -- In order for your Senior Portrait to appear in the 2020 edition of the Comus, William Allen High School's yearbook, you will need to have your senior portrait taken by Christmas City Studio. We do not accept senior portraits from other photographers. Christmas City Studio will be returning to Allen during the evening hours on October 18, October 23, October 28, October 29, October 31, November 11, November 12, November 13, and December 5. You will need to call Christmas City Studio at 610-691-2109 to make an appointment for one of these dates. Please call and make your appointment now, as the appointment times fill up quickly. If you have any questions about the Senior Portraits, please see Mr. Iles in Room 4-204.

Gay Straight Alliance meets this and every Tuesday in room 1-303 after school. If you want to help stop bullying, harassment, and gender discrimination and support the diversity in our school through understanding and youth advocacy, we might be the place for you!

Seniors, the College & Career Center is running a trip to Kutztown University and DeSales University. Stop by for a permission slip as soon as possible! It’s a great idea to see as many colleges as you can before making your decision. 

There are still spots left in the after-school SAT Prep class. Please see Mrs. Duggan in the career center by the end of this week if you are interested. It starts this Tuesday, Sept. 10th at 3:00 in Room 1-003.





 

William Allen High School is one of 3 high schools located in the city of Allentown. 
The richness of The Allentown School District's diversity is strengthened by its central role in educating our students for America's future through academic excellence and celebrating the culturally responsive, athletic and artistic range of talent in the schools. ASD students originate from 51 countries and speak 26 languages. There are twenty-five academic buildings throughout the City. 

During the 2016-2017 school year, the district enrolled 16,628 students across 15 Elementary & Early Childhood Centers (7,976), 4 Middle Schools (3,421) and 3 High Schools (5,231).  The Allentown School District has 2,429 personnel.

89.1% of our families are denoted as Low Income, and 100% receive Free/Reduced Lunch.  ASD is the third largest urban school system out of 500 Districts in the Commonwealth and serves a community with a poverty rate of 38.64% of the City's population. (2013 Census).
