The National Honor Society will be hosting the spring blood drive on March 31 in the gym. Any student aged 16 or older who would like to donate, must submit a signed permission slip. Permission slips can be picked up in the main office, in room 1-315 or from any NHS member. The completed forms can be returned to any of the previously mentioned locations. No student, regardless of age, will be permitted to donate blood without a signed permission slip. You will be scheduled to donate, and a pass will be given to you the day before the event. Students who donate blood at least 4 times during high school are eligible to wear a red cord at graduation. Please see Mrs. Smith in room 1-315 if you have any questions.

Family Information Night will be held on Tuesday, March 24th at 5:45pm. The program will begin in the Media Center, which is located in the 9th Grade Center. Families should enter using the front doors of the 9th Grade Center

The next William Allen Construction Company meeting will be on Wednesday March 11th during 7th period in the library conference room. Students will receive passes from their homeroom teachers. This is a working meeting, please try to attend!
Team members of Allen Scholastic Scrimmage and friends interested in going to the 2020 Academic Regional Competition on Friday, April 3rd at the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21- there will be a meeting after school today in Miss Dillman's room in the Annex.

Seniors, it is not too late to order your cap and gown. Online orders and mail-in orders are still being taken. The cost is $26. If you need an order form, they can be picked up in the 12th grade attendance office.

SENIORS -- Prom ticket sales will last from March 9, 2020 - May 1, 2020. Please refer to the flyer that you received in English class for ticket prices and seating information. Ticket sales will take place in Room 4-204.

William Allen High School will host its Formal Dress Fair on Friday, March 20, 2020, on the Second Floor of the Linden Building. The event will last from 2:45 until 4:00 p.m. We will have formal dresses, shoes, and other items available for student at no cost. If you are planning on attending a formal event, and you need a formal dress, please consider stopping by.

Juniors: On Wednesday, March 25, all juniors will be taking the SAT School Day. It is a free opportunity, and it does not count again the two free fee waivers that you can receive for Saturday SAT testing. If you have already signed up for the March 14 SAT, you may want to considering changing the date to May or June, since you will be taking the test during the school day on March 25. More information will be provided in English classes and also mailed home soon.

Attention all students: This year's staff v. students basketball game is on March 27th at 6:30 PM in the gym. If you are interested in playing, please sign up with Mrs. Billy in room 1-216. Last year the students won 46-44! Please sign up by March 4th so you can be included and get a free t-shirt.

ATTENTION SENIORS, please verify the way your name is spelled on sapphire because that is the way it will appear on your DIPLOMA. If it is incorrect, you MUST see Mrs. Hersh in the main guidance office as soon as possible so she can CORRECT it and order your diploma.

SENIORS if you have a debt please clear it in the Main Office. If you DON’T pay your debt, you will not receive your DIPLOMA at graduation.

• Do you want to learn to knit or crochet? Join our club after school on Mondays in room 1-221.  
• Key Club meets on the first and third Thursday of every month in 1-304
• 4-H Club meets every Monday after school in Rm 1-308
• Guitar club will be every Tuesday in room 8-221 at 2:50 until 3:50pm.  
• Volunteers in Motion will meet every Thursday after school in the library.
• Gay Straight Alliance meets every Tuesday in room 1-303 after school.  All are welcome!
• Anti-Bullying Club meets every Monday at 2:50pm in room 3-205 All are welcome!
• STAGE CREW is meeting after school daily in the Scene Shop. Lots to do right now!
• Latino Leadership meets every Tuesday after school in Room 8-121. 
• Baking Club meets every Monday at 2:50 in room 1-221
• Students Against Destructive Decisions club meets every Monday after school in the main cafeteria.

• Rotary club scholarship applications are due to Mrs. Duggan in the career center by Feb. 1st. Late applications will not be accepted. Please turn your completed application in as soon as possible.

• There will be a field trip to Cedar Crest College on March 26th. Permission slips can be picked up in the career center and must be returned by Feb. 3rd. There are 30 spots available and all 11th and 12th graders are welcome to come.

• Seniors check out the most updated scholarship listing in the career center. It is updated frequently.

Rotary Club scholarship applications are available now. This scholarship is worth $12,000.

• Seniors should also be sure they do their financial aid paperwork for college before it’s too late.

May 1st is the deadline to commit to a college for next year and also the deadline for a state grant.

The William Allen Canaries Varsity Boys Basketball Team will take on the Chester High School Clippers, in the 2020 PIAA First Round 6A Basketball Championships on Saturday, March 7th, at 5:30 PM, at the Oxford High School Gymnasium, 705 Waterway Road, Oxford, PA 19363. 

Pre-sale tickets will be on sale in the Athletic Office.  Adult tickets $8. Student tickets $4.  There is no Senior discount.  ALL tickets at the door will be $8.

Come out and support your Canaries as they begin their flight for PIAA Championship!
