In-Service Day Monday October 14th, students DO NOT report.

The National Honor Society will be hosting the fall blood drive on October 29, 2019. Any student who is at least 16 years old and is interested in donating blood must have a signed permission slip submitted in advance. No student, regardless of age will be permitted to donate blood without a permission slip. They can be picked up in the main office, room 1-315 or from any NHS member. They can be returned to any of the previously mentioned locations. Students who donate 4 times during their high school career are eligible for a Red Cord from Miller-Keystone to wear at graduation.

There will be a Scholastic Scrimmage meeting next Tuesday after school in the Annex in room 2-301.

Send your Boo Pop to a friend or stop by the tables outside the NGC and Main cafeteria to purchase one for yourself today. Boo Pops are now sent to a friend or cash and carry. Get them before they are gone. The Classes of 2021 and 2023 will be selling Boo Pops October 11 - 18 in all lunches. Send a Boo Pop to your friend this Halloween! Cost is $1 and pops are delivered to homerooms on October 31st.

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 9, 10, and 11: Our School Photo Day will take place today. The photographers will be stationed in the Lobby of the Phys. Ed. Center. Your English teacher will tell you when you will have your photo taken.
ATTENTION ALLEN! Homecoming 2019 – Arabian Nights will be on October 19th from 7-10pm in J. Milo Sewards Gymnasium. Tickets are $20 each - $35 for two. You may buy your tickets in the School Store during all Lunches or at our new SCHOOL STORE SOUTH in the NGC. You must present a WAHS Student ID for each ticket you wish to purchase!

The yearbook is collecting Then and Now photos for the 2020 yearbook. If you bring us your then picture, we can take your now picture. Then pictures should be of individual seniors or groups of seniors that were taken before 9th grade. You may bring your Then and Now pictures to Mr. Iles in Room 4-204. If you would like to submit your Then and Now pictures electronically, please see Mr. Iles for instructions.

SENIORS -- In order for your Senior Portrait to appear in the 2020 edition of the Comus, William Allen High School's yearbook, you will need to have your senior portrait taken by Christmas City Studio. We do not accept senior portraits from other photographers. Christmas City Studio will be returning to Allen during the evening hours on October 18, October 23, October 28, October 29, October 31, November 11, November 12, November 13, and December 5. You will need to call Christmas City Studio at 610-691-2109 to make an appointment for one of these dates. Please call and make your appointment now, as the appointment times fill up quickly. If you have any questions about the Senior Portraits, please see Mr. Iles in Room 4-204.

Seniors! The annual Senior Group Photo will take place during periods 2 and 3 on Thursday, October 17, 2019, in the J. Milo Sewards Gymnasium. All seniors will take part in this annual tradition.

• Guitar club will be every Tuesday in room 8-221 at 2:50 until 3:50pm.
• Volunteers in Motion will meet every Thursday after school in the library.
• Gay Straight Alliance meets every Tuesday in room 1-303 after school. All are welcome!
• Anti-Bullying Club meets every Monday at 2:50pm in room 3-205 All are welcome!
• K-POP meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:50-4:30 in room 8-303.
• STAGE CREW is meeting after school daily in the Scene Shop. Lots to do right now!
• Latino Leadership meets every Tuesday after school in Room 8-121.

Are you interested in learning about other countries, cultures, or global activism? If so, International Club will be kicking off with a first meeting after school on Friday, October 11 in room 1-209. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Gruver or Mrs. Sterner.

DeSales University is looking for both student and staff volunteers to help with the Special Olympics on Oct. 13th.  If you are interested, see Mrs. Duggan in the career center for information on how to register.

There will be Winter Athletics Information Meetings for Basketball, Wrestling, Swimming/Diving, and Indoor Track on Wednesday, October 2nd, at 1:55pm, in the Main Cafeteria.  At this time, each Head Coach will provide information for IM’s, PIAA Physicals, Game Schedules, and Team Policies for each of their respective programs.  

Attention Boy Volleyball players...There will be an OPEN GYM on Tuesday Oct 1st from 6-8 PM in the gym ALL are welcome to attend 

Allen Swimming and Diving is starting its PRESEASON program and we want YOU!!  ALL Allen students are welcome to join.  Session begins Oct. 1st from 3-4pm.  Bring a one-piece suit and a towel to Allen’s pool and experience this amazing sport.  Sessions will run Monday through Thursday.  You may attend ALL sessions or some sessions.  We are flexible.  Preseason runs from Oct. 1st through November 14th.

Seniors, the College & Career Center is running a trip to Kutztown University and DeSales University. Stop by for a permission slip as soon as possible! It’s a great idea to see as many colleges as you can before making your decision.
