ALLEN ANNOUNCEMENTS

Greetings Canary Nation Students, Families, and Community Stakeholders.

You are invited to two nights of Chalk Walk visits designed especially for your pleasure. Tuesday August 20th and Wednesday August 21st from 6 pm – 7:30 pm you and your William Allen High School Student or Student are welcomed to walk the entire campus prior to the start of the school year.  You can bring family and non-aggressive pets along during this time.  You will also be allowed to decorate the sidewalks around the school campus as you wish.

We will have buckets of Colored Chalk Ready for you.

Back to School Open House is set for Tuesday September 24, 2019 from 6 pm – 8 pm

Saludos a los estudiantes de las naciones canarias, a las familias y a las partes interesadas de la comunidad.

Le invitamos a dos noches de visitas de Chalk Walk diseñadas especialmente para su placer.  
Martes 20 de agosto y miércoles 21 de agosto de 6 pm – 7:30 pm usted y su William Allen High School Student o Student son bienvenidos a caminar todo el campus antes del comienzo del año escolar.  Puedes llevar mascotas familiares y no agresivas durante este tiempo.  También se le permitirá decorar las aceras alrededor del campus de la escuela como desee.

William Allen High School is one of 3 high schools located in the city of Allentown. 
The richness of The Allentown School District's diversity is strengthened by its central role in educating our students for America's future through academic excellence and celebrating the culturally responsive, athletic and artistic range of talent in the schools. ASD students originate from 51 countries and speak 26 languages. There are twenty-five academic buildings throughout the City. 

During the 2016-2017 school year, the district enrolled 16,628 students across 15 Elementary & Early Childhood Centers (7,976), 4 Middle Schools (3,421) and 3 High Schools (5,231).  The Allentown School District has 2,429 personnel.

89.1% of our families are denoted as Low Income, and 100% receive Free/Reduced Lunch.  ASD is the third largest urban school system out of 500 Districts in the Commonwealth and serves a community with a poverty rate of 38.64% of the City's population. (2013 Census).
