The running club will be selling chocolate chip cookies during all lunches this week. We'll be outside the 11th grade cafeteria on Monday through Wednesday, and outside the NGC cafeteria on Thursday and Friday.

Donate $1 for a pin or a ribbon to wear orange for Leukemia or kidney cancer and/or black for melanoma, skin cancer on Thursday, November 21st. Orange and black ribbons can be purchased from any Canaries for Life member or at the Main entrance on Thursday morning. Only the polo can be replaced with another orange or black top. Give support and help the Canaries for Life raise awareness.

Tickets for the Fall Drama ANTIGONE NOW are on sale in Mr. Sechler’s room 2-105. All seats are $5. The production is Thurs. Nov 14 and Friday Nov 15 @ 7 pm in the Black Box Theatre.

The William Allen chapter of 4-H, a national organization that develops learning through doing projects, is set to meet in the Media Center at 2:50 on Wednesday, November 13. Come get a snack and learn how fun 4-H experiences can be. If you have questions see Mr. Holzman in Rm 1-308, Mrs DiFebo in Rm 1-304, or Senior Carrie Spangler.

VIM and Key Club will be holding a fall food drive. Non-perishable food donations can be dropped off in the guidance office or the NGC Main Office from Monday 11/11 until Tuesday 11/26.
SENIORS -- In order for your Senior Portrait to appear in the 2020 edition of the Comus, William Allen High School's yearbook, you will need to have your senior portrait taken by Christmas City Studio. We do not accept senior portraits from other photographers. Christmas City Studio will be returning to Allen during the evening November 11, November 12, November 13, and December 5. You will need to call Christmas City Studio at 610-691-2109 to make an appointment for one of these dates. Please call and make your appointment now, as the appointment times fill up quickly. If you have any questions about the Senior Portraits, please see Mr. Iles in Room 4-204.

The yearbook is collecting Then and Now photos for the 2020 yearbook. If you bring us your then picture, we can take your now picture. Then pictures should be of individual seniors or groups of seniors that were taken before 9th grade. You may bring your Then and Now pictures to Mr. Iles in Room 4-204.
Saturday classes for credit recovery have started. They run every Saturday 9:30am-11:30am. If you are interested in making up credits, please see you counselor or administrator for more information.

Would you like to run through an obstacle course with zombies? Join Running Club for the Zombie Fun Run at Field of Screams on Saturday November 16th. Would you like to run through a holiday lights display at the Parkway? Join Running Club for the Lights in the Parkway 5K at the Lehigh Parkway on Wednesday November 27th at 7:00PM. Sign up in room 1-316 and return your permission slip to Mrs. Budd by Wednesday November 13th to participate.

• Guitar club will be every Tuesday in room 8-221 at 2:50 until 3:50pm.
• Volunteers in Motion will meet every Thursday after school in the library.
• Gay Straight Alliance meets every Tuesday in room 1-303 after school. All are welcome!
• Anti-Bullying Club meets every Monday at 2:50pm in room 3-205 All are welcome!
• K-POP meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:50-4:30 in room 8-303.
• STAGE CREW is meeting after school daily in the Scene Shop. Lots to do right now!
• Latino Leadership meets every Tuesday after school in Room 8-121.

Allen Cheer will be holding tryouts for the upcoming basketball season. If you are interested in joining the cheer team, please stop by the Athletic office to sign up and pick up important information. All candidates must have a completed 2019-2020 PIAA Physical to tryout. Free physicals will be offered this Saturday, Nov. 9 from St. Lukes. Act fast - the tryout practices start November 12th.

There is a MANDATORY meeting TODAY at 2:50 PM at the Pool! Show up and learn how you can become a CANARY swimmer!!! Snacks will be provided!!!

St. Luke’s/ASD Free PIAA Athletics Physicals, Saturday, November 9th, at St. Luke’s Sports Performance Center, located at 702 Union Boulevard, Allentown. Stop by the Athletic Office to pick up a bus schedule for free transportation to and from the physicals on that date. For those who are using their own transportation, the stated time for William Allen Student-Athletes is 9:15 - 10:45 AM. However, the Center is open 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM in case there is a need to arrive at a time other than assigned to William Allen. St. Luke’s is offering incentives to attend so all student athletes will receive a free t-shirt and draw-string bag.

William Allen, Trexler, and Raub are offering weight certifications for all student athletes interested in wrestling.
All student athletes interested in wrestling are required to become weight certified to establish a healthy weight for the season as well as complete a hydration assessment. Student Athletes must have a valid PIAA physical before weight certifying. All of these will be done by the St. Luke’s athletic training staff.

• Wednesday 11/14/19 @ Trexler – 3pm to 5pm

William Allen High School is one of 3 high schools located in the city of Allentown.
