WAHS Puts Anonymous Donation Towards Technology Upgrade
Posted on 09/21/2018
At the April 26, 2018 regular board meeting, the Allentown School District Board of Directors voted to accept the deposit of a donation of $15,000 to William Allen High School.

The funding, which came from an alumni donor who wishes to remain anonymous was earmarked for the purchase of upgraded technology for the school. Specifically, the school was able to purchase 52 Apple iPads for use by students in Autistic Support, Multiple-Disability Support, Life Skills Support and Speech Therapy programs at William Allen High School.

The purchase helps WAHS and ASD enhance and expand the use of technology to provide anytime/anywhere access and increase student-centered learning opportunities. Additionally, as outlined in our Strategic Framework, we are working to create individualized student success plans aimed at capturing students' strengths and interests, addressing their academic and social-emotional learning needs and guiding their transition beyond high school.

The staff and administration at William Allen High School is incredibly grateful to the anonymous donor and ASD staff who helped make the purchase and configuration of the devices possible. On September 19, students and teachers in the Autistic Support room at WAHS got their first look at their brand new iPads!
